We'd like to familiarize you with the policies of our office. Doing so will help both you and our therapists to maximize the benefits of your time here. If you have any questions please feel free to discuss them with any of our practitioners. Appointments Sessions are by appointment only and can be arranged by telephone (we do not provide on-line appointment booking at this time). If you are redeeming a gift certificate, please let us know at the time you schedule your appointment. Although same-day appointments are sometimes available, we'd like to recommend that you schedule appointments as far in advance as possible - especially if you wish to be seen by a particular therapist on a specific date and time. We encourage you to schedule sessions with any of our therapists as each has a different style of working. By being comfortable working with several therapists, it is often easier to schedule your appointment when it is most convenient for you. Client Questionnaire During your first visit to our office you will be asked to complete a brief confidential questionnaire. This will provide us with important health information that will help us tailor your session to benefit you in the best possible way. NOTE: If you are being treated for a serious medical condition, prior to scheduling an appointment with us, please consult with your physician to confirm that therapeutic massage is an appropriate addition to your current health care program as there are certain medical conditions under which massage is contraindicated (should not be done). If you have any questions, please call us prior to your appointment. Preparation We suggest you refrain from eating a large meal for at least one hour prior to your session. If possible, a shower at home shortly before your appointment will also enhance your enjoyment of the session. Draping Your modesty and privacy are respected at all times. Clients are covered (draped) with sheets and blankets throughout the session. As a specific area of the body is being addressed, the draping will be adjusted to expose only that area. Undergarments may be kept on if desired or you may bring gym shorts or a bathing suit. We urge you to do what is most comfortable for you. If you have specific concerns, it is important that you discuss them with us during or prior to your session. Feedback To ensure a successful session, it is important that you communicate with your therapist the need for adjustments in pressure, technique, draping, temperature or other elements of your session that pertain to your comfort and safety. IMPORTANT NOTE: We reserve the right to cancel a session if alcohol or recreational drug use by a client is evident, if we feel a client's conduct is inappropriate or if the session would be contraindicated by an established health care program. Being Late for Your Appointment Because we schedule sessions consecutively, we urge you to be prompt as we are not able to extend your session beyond your scheduled time. In the event you are late for your appointment, the full fee or value of gift certificate covers your scheduled session length or any portion thereof. Cancellations and No-Shows Kindly notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you are unable to keep your appointment. Should you fail to appear for an appointment that you have not previously cancelled, after the third occurrence, we will not be able to schedule you for any future sessions. If you fail to appear for an appointment for which a gift certificate is being redeemed, the gift certificate will be considered redeemed. Payment Payment in the form of personal check, cashier's check or U.S. currency is expected at the time services are rendered. We do not accept credit cards or insurance assignment at this time. If your personal check is returned due to Insufficient Funds you will be asked to promptly provide a replacement payment in the form of cash or cashier's check including any bank fees that are incurred. Insurance Reimbursement Some health insurance plans reimburse for therapeutic massage. We do not process claims for insurance reimbursement nor do we accept insurance assignment. If you intend to have your health insurance provider cover the cost of our services, upon payment in full from you for your visit, we will provide you with a Statement of Services which you can submit to your insurance provider for direct reimbursement. ...and Finally We are always open to suggestions for improvement.
